The Vanuatu Netball will be focussing on selecting players from the Port Vila and Santo squad for the Pacific Games, said the Head Coach, Graetol Sakul.
Sakul will be in Port Vila next Friday to train the 9 member Vila squad, She is based in Santo and have been preparing the other nine member squad in Santo for four months now and will assess the Vila squad.
“ We have our list of 18 players, nine from Port Vila and nine from Santo.For now we are just focussing on these two places and later we will shift focus to the islands,” she said.
“Santo have started their preparation since February and the girls are really improving as we look forward to put together a formidable side.”
The 18 member long list will be reduced to 12.
The Vanuatu Netball Associationwill also focus on growing the sport to outer islands mainly Malekula, Paama and Tanna.
Vanuatu netball will make their return to the Pacific Games after participating in the Pacific Mini Games in 2017. They finished fourth at the event hosted in Port Vila.
