The Vanuatu Tennis Federation (VTF) yesterday received financial assistance from the Vanuatu Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee (VASANOC) ahead of the Pacific Oceania Junior Championship in Fiji.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VASANOC, James Malau said: “We are glad to support these young players who have all qualified for another level of championships, this is good news to us.
“This is a good achievement for these athletes and this cheque is a morale boost for the team to continue to participate.”
VASANOC handed over the cheque which will assist the team’s return air fare to Fiji where the regional championship will be held in July.
Twelve players from VTF qualified for the tournament.
Head Coach Yanni Honila was grateful for the support from VASANOC.
“We acknowledge VASANOC for their commitment to supporting these athletes, it means a lot to these young players,” Honila said.
