North Efate Level 0, CAP and CPP participants

Cricket development in

Vanuatu is flourishing with more training courses taking place in Port Vila, North Efate and Tanna over the last week following the success of the courses in the Sanma province recently.

The workshops were facilitated by Vanuatu Cricket Association’s General Manager, Pierre Chilia and VCA’s Administration Officer Henry Boe.

Teacher Ambassadors representing schools in and around Port Vila were trained as part of the School Cricket Ambassadors program.

The participants underwent the Cricket Administrator’s Program (CAP), Level 0 Cricket Coaching course and the VCA’s Child Protection Policy (CPP) training in preparation for their roles as ambassadors. The program aims to use cricket to promote physical activity in schools and encourage healthy lifestyles in the students.

Teachers in Tanna and North Efate were also trained in administration, coaching and child protection focusing on community cricket.

All the participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their efforts over the two days. The practical skills learnt at these courses will aid the participants in forming cricket clubs and organising competitions in the region.
