Club de Sanma recently supported cricket development in Santo with the cash prizes. Six teams competed in the Development Cup with the four teams making it to the finals; Santo East Tornados, Western Wolves, Talua Rock and Central Crunch.
In 3rd place play off Central Crunch defeated Western Wolves.
The final of the Club de Sanma Development Cup was entertaining that it attracted quite a crowd to turn up to watch the grand final played at the Sanma Cricket Ground. Talua Rock showed their dominance by winning the 2014 Club de Sanma Development Cup.
Batting first Santo East Tornados posted 51runs with fours and sixes hit all over the park.
In reply Talua Rock took the approach in batting aggressively making sure that they have wickets in hand to score the runs. The Rocks won the game with the loss of five wickets.
Paul from Talua Rock was named “Man of the Match” taking 3/7 off his overs and scored 7 runs not out.
The Club de Sanma General Manager, Mr. Michael Johnston presented the winning prices including cash prices.
The Sanma Provincial Cricket Development Office wishes to acknowledge Club de Sanma management and board for their continuous support with cricket development in Luganville and Sanma Province.
The support from Club de Sanma and other business houses in Luganivlle has seen five young cricketers; four males and 1 female being selected for trials in the Under 19 pre-squad and women’s pre-squad in Port Vila from 1st December to January 2015, where two of the players awarded cricket scholarship to study and play cricket in Port Vila in 2015.
