Suva FC will face AS Pirae of Tahiti in the second semi-final match at 3pm today at the VFF Freswota Stadium after beating Solomon Warriors 2-0.
In an interview with Buzz FM yesterday, Suva FC President Ritesh Pratap said their game against the Warriors was tough however, their boys played well according to the plan and they won.
“We saw their game against Auckland City FC when they were down with a player, but they played a really good attacking wall, and that’s what we learned from them and trained for two days before taking Solomon Warriors,” Pratap said.
Pratap became Suva FC’s Vice President in 2012 then later became the President in 2016, and this year marks his seven years with the team.
He said that since he became the president, for the first three years with the club, they haven’t played in any tournaments and just in 2020 things started going well for the team.
“For our Game today against AS Pirae from Tahiti, we have been watching their games so far, firstly their players are physically fit, consisting of old players and they played really good football, and for that, we have been working for the past two days some of our weaknesses which we need to improve but on the other hand, we are ready to take on AS Pirae today,” he said.
Pratap and his team acknowledged fans and supporters in Luganville.
“Thank you to the people of Luganville. We didn’t expect the large crowd cheering for the boys and we expect the same here in Port Vila because we have two Ni-Vanuatu players playing with the team,” Pratap said.
He thanked fans and supporters back home in Fiji for their support since day. He also thanked Fiji Football for its assistance in this regional tournament.
