The Port Vila Football Association (PVFA) has approved for all clubs, players and officials to get vaccinated against COVID-19 before the end of this year, during its club meeting on Tuesday.

In an official statement, PVFA Vice President, Harry Atisson, said a lot of players and officials are still not vaccinated, however, the Association is encouraging all to get vaccinated against the deadly virus.

“It is important to adhere to the Ministry of Health’s awareness to safeguard individuals as well as the family overall against the disease,” he said.

PVFA is encouraging all clubs to come forward with the names and number of its players to the PVFA office next week.

Mr. Atisson stated that everyone should perform their responsibilities as a goalkeeper’s duties in a competition.

“Everyone should stand up and protect our health against COVID-19,” he said.

“I am encouraging all players, football fans, to take good care of themselves against COVID-19 and other diseases.”

PVFA confirmed that Mr. Jean Jacques Rory, a health official is prepared to assist PVFA. Mr. Rory said he is happy to see PVFA taking the initiative to keep its players safe. PVFA has over 1000 registered players.
