ITS POLAND AND CROATIA: Kurukuru World Cup squad ready tomorrow

RECAP: Kurukuru squad the OFC Futsal Championship.

The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) and coaches for the national Kurukuru Futsal Team for the FIFA Futsal World Cup will name their final 16-man squad tomorrow.

The Kurukurus will leave the country on Friday, travelling via Australia and Dubai for Poland where they will undergo final preparations for the World Cup in Lithuania.

The squad will end their two weeks intensive training camp at the Pacific Casino today, as they look ahead for their training camp in Poland.

The World Cup futsal squad will then head to Croatia after Poland, for a warm up tournament before heading over to Lithuania.

“European Tour set. Our next training camp is confirmed to be in Poland starting next month before the team jets off to Croatia for a warm-up tournament ahead of the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021 in September,” a team statement said.

“The team is still camping at the Pacific Casino hotel which will end on Tuesday and the team will fly out of the country on Friday, 30 July, via Brisbane, Dubai, en route to Warsaw, Poland.

“The official announcement of the World Cup squad will be made on Wednesday 28 July 2021,” the statement adds.

The team meanwhile thanked Gateway International Mission and Healing Center for hosting the team on Sunday for their commissioning.

“Massive thanks to Gateway International Mission and Healing Centre for hosting the Solomon Kurukuru team for the Sunday service today.

“We were blessed by Pastor Philip Komasi message as heroes of our country we have touched lives through our God-given talents on the court.

“The boys have been inspired to continue to shine a light in a country that faces so many challenges and we are determined to represent all Solomon Islanders on the world stage with pride and passion.

“Thank you to Gateway International Mission & Healing Centre for commissioning the team ahead of the European camp next month and the FIFA Futsal World Cup Lithuania 2021,” the statement adds.
