Amicale who is leading Port Vila Football Association’s [PVFA] Splash Ligue 2 with 19 points have booked its spot in the 2023/24 Splash Ligue 1 after their 5-2 win over Prima Kings.
The boys in red will play Varona of Seaside Futuna today at 3pm at Stade Centrale. Varona too has also booked their spot in next season’s Ligue 1 as Ligue 2 runners-up with 15 points, following their 3 -1 victory over Taut Iamak. Though these two teams have two more games to play, they are too far ahead on points for anyone to catch them.
On Friday at 3pm at Stade Centrale Prima Kings will take on Blackz United while over at Kawenu Field at the same time, Taut Iamak take on Kings United. Either Blackz United or Kings United, have a chance of finishing the season in third place with a chance of promotion to Ligue 1 through the play-off against Ligue 1’s 8th-placed team.
Above in Ligue 1, all games will take place at Stade Centrale on Saturday.
The action begins at 11am when Black Diamond comes off a 2-1 victory over Redal meet third-placed Naka.
At 1pm, Redal plays 2nd placed United Malampa who lost to Pele by 2-1 last weekend followed by table toppers Pango Green Bird who end the day’s action at 3 pm when they meet Lakotau who enjoyed a 2-1 win over AS Tewalu in their last match.
Pango Green Bird leads the table with 27 points while United Malampa sits in 2nd place with 23 points followed by Naka in 3rd spot also with 23 points. According to the PVFA President, Harry Attison, no Vodafone Premier League games will take place until the OFC Champions League is over.
