Dear Editor,

It saddens me to read the report on Air Vanuatu by a current employee in Daily Post Issue 6294. I have been involved in aviation in Vanuatu since 1974. I have been an Air Vanuatu employee, 7 years in the 90s, and 6 years in the 2000s. The airline has always been a great airline to work for during those years, like a big family and all employees worked together to work towards a safe and respected company.

I realize that it is difficult times at present with reduced operation however I think that the Air Van board and upper management need to have positive communication with the staff to ensure that the frontline of the company work together to get through the current crises.

The report seems to highlight costs for equipment that is not absolutely necessary at this time when that money would be better spent supporting the staff and not lining the pockets of board members. All Air Vanuatu employees hope things improve.
