Dear Editor,

Last week, the Head of State Obed Moses Tallis explained that the three former PMs who were recently pardoned “needed mercy from the people”.

Naturally, Mr. Moana Carcasses Kalosil also “needs mercy from the people” — to use Pr. Tallis’ very own reasoning. How come he did not pardon former PM Mr. Kalosil?

And why did he not also pardon Mr. Willie Jimmy? President Tallis should be reminded of the democratic principles of fairness, impartiality, transparency, and true leadership. His explanation sadly falls short of these Christian values which he should have actually upheld not just in his capacity as Head of State but more so as a Christian Church Pastor. His pardoning process is therefore incomplete.
