A 3-year-old girl has been allegedly raped on Tanna between February and May 4 this year and the suspect is her father.
The girls father who looks to be in his late 20s has been charged with 4 sex related charges and is being remanded in the Correctional Centre in Port Vila.
Appearing before the Supreme Court this week the defendant was charged with one count of sexual intercourse without consent, one count of unlawful sexual intercourse, one count of incest and one count of indecency with a young person.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to all the charges when they were read out to him in court.
No attempts were made to seek bail for the defendant due to the seriousness of the charges especially that all the 4 charges are sex related.
According to Judge Stephan Harrop, the case has been listed for trial, which is expect to take place on Tanna.
