The Vanuatu People’s Investment and Equity Fund (VPIEF) has opened a commercial centre for its shareholders in Luganville, Santo. The opening on July 22 came after the Port Vila commercial centre, VPIEF’s first, began operation two months earlier.
The Luganville Commercial Centre was jointly opened by the Fund’s cofounders – Ati George Sokomanu – VPIEF Chairman, Fr. John Bennet Bani – Vice Chairman, and Executive Chairman Louis Kalnpel. Among dignitaries at the opening was the MP for Luganville, Kalvao Moli, former MP Hilda Lini and George Veri, Office-in-Charge of VIEP Head Office and Commercial Centre in Luganville.
Nannette Nicklam, Vanuatu People’s Investment and Equity Fund’s Communication Officer, says Luganville commercial centre is located at the former CC store, which is opposite Santo Court house, and its operating hours are 7.00am — 7.00pm every Monday to Thursday and 7.00am to 4.30pm on Friday. On weekends the commercial centre is closed.
She says the VPIEF membership fee for Luganville is still Vt4,000 in a grace period until further notice. “Any person wishing to inquire for membership are encouraged to register any time from now and start saving and spending on their own investment,” Nicklam adds.
