Following an article that the Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce & Industry (VCCI) wrote and complained about the lengthy delay in the process of obtaining new leases over customary land, the Minister of Lands has written to the VCCI to request a meeting with the concerned VCCI members who deals with land and lease issues.

The Lands Minister will be attending the meeting with his senior officers with an aim to clear the concerns raised by explaining the new process for obtaining a new lease over customary land and also give an update on the piloting program that the Ministry is currently undertaking.
