MAYOR-PEO

The number of schools in Port Vila has increased and with the growing population of young people, there is a need for Port Vila to have a PEO of its own

The current system that sees Principal Education Officers (PEOs) assigned for the six provinces and none for Port Vila, including Luganville, to address its own education issues is not fair, stressed the Mayor of Port Vila, Sumptoh Ulrich.

Mayor Ulrich was addressing an occasion at the Ecole Publique Centre Ville on Friday. The event saw the launching of the school’s policy, a new year 10 classroom , a new clinic and its new face of a ship designed at the front of the administration.

He announced his new council would dialogue with the Minister of Education, Bob Loughman, concerning this concern.
