Political parties that contested the February 2013 elections in the Tafea Provincial government are now rallying support to put the next leader in the driver's seat at Isangel.
Every two years the election for the President of each province is up for grabs and political camps have been formed in the build up to the election next week.
Principal Electoral Officer, Fr Charles Vatu said the election for the President has been planned for March 2, three days before Chiefs Day.
Meanwhile, the Daily Post has been told that the interim Tafea President, Union of Moderate Parties councillor Mr Nako Natuman is in a tug of war with the Iauko Group councillors on which party should hold the reins of control in Isangel.
There are two political camps on Tanna, one reportedly controlled by Iauko Group and the other by the UMP.
UMP has no Member of Parliament in Tanna except MP Silas Iatan who was elected in 2012 under the banner of UMP, then switched sides to join the Greens.
But Tanna have a Iauko Group MP in the son of the founder of Iauko Party, MP Sebastien Pascal Iauko, and his influence may have a bearing on the outcome of the election of the President of Tafea.
The Electoral Commission will oversee the election of the Tafea President next week.
