Parents, education leaders and teachers of pre-schools around Vanuatu have the opportunity to increase their understanding of the learning and development needs of children in early childhood.

This has been made possible through the magazine, Nabanga Manua, a project funded by Save the Children in Vanuatu with its aim to work in partnership with schools, communities and education leaders to help strengthen and improve access to and the quality of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE).

The project has been initiated after extensive data revealed an urgent need to improve school readiness in Vanuatu.

This week, the third edition of Nabanga Manua has been officially launched by the ECCE Program Adviser, Wendy Griffin.

The magazine is produced in Bislama and includes activities that teachers can use in a range of development areas including numeracy and literacy; child development stages and ‘windows of opportunity’ for learning; inclusive education; health; safety and positive discipline.

The magazine is intended for every Kindergarten in Vanuatu and used to support early literacy and numeracy learning.
