The COVID-19 Simulation Exercise planned for October 21-23, 2021 has been postponed.

This was officially announced by the Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday. The new dates will be relayed by the MoH later.

The Ministry also clarified that there will not be a wide-scale lockdown, as it is not currently planned.

The Simulation Exercise will only be conducted in locations selected by the MoH, throughout Port Vila.

These locations will include five shops, one church, one school, and three simulated community isolation centres.

The MoH has not confirmed which areas these will be, but stated the designated locations will be advised well in advance.

No interruptions to transport on Efate is anticipated at this point as the scenarios that will be covered in the simulations are all theoretical. The MoH asks the public to avoid spreading misleading information regarding the Simulation Exercise.
