Road closures today and tomorrow in Port Vila

Contractors of the Port Vila Urban Development Project (PVUDP) RMS and the Vanuatu Project Management Unit have advised that there will be road closures today and tomorrow in Port Vila as follows: Thursday, 26/10/17 & Friday, 27/10/17 subject to good weather conditions prevailing — Edmond Collardeau Avenue.

There will be concrete works on constructing kerbs and footpaths on sites between the Collardeau French School and Tropical Roundabout.

“As such there will be one lane closure of the Edmond Collardeau Avenue to allow traffic travelling from USP Roundabout or the Joint Court area to pass through going South only. One-lane closure will apply from 9:00 to 2:30 on both Thursday and Friday.

“Before 9:00 am and after 2:30 pm the section of Edmond Collardeau Avenue outside the French School will remain open to two-way traffic, between Rue Wales and Rue de Cumberland to allow for school drop-off and pick-up,” the message from George Tambe, Community Liaison Officer of RMS Vanuatu says.

Traffic coming from South going North will have to detour at the Tropical R/about through Rue de Cornwall — Cooks Avenue — Rue de Cumberland (at the French School); or vice-versa, through Rue de Wales (French School) — Cooks Avenue — Rue de Cornwall (Tropical R/about).

Friday, 27/10/17 — In front of Ezzy Kill Nambatu. Drainage works will be taking place in front of the northern corner of Ezzy Kill.

“As such there will be road closures at Rue du Maine (back road of AuBonMarch 2) and detour installed to divert the traffic from the area. Appropriate detour signs and traffic controllers will be placed to help direct the traffic flow.”
