The national joint COVID-19 simulation exercise in Port Vila was conducted yesterday.

The event involved staff from the Department of Health, Vila Central Hospital, Vanuatu Red Cross Society, Vanuatu Police Force, chiefs and other stakeholders. Doctor Basil Leodoro said one the main reasons behind yesterday’s simulation exercise was to observe the movement of the people in real time.

He said the Delta variant is highly transmissible.

Doctor Samuel Posikai said they will convene another meeting on October 18 to prepare for the lockdown simulation in Port Vila. The lockdown simulation is estimated to last three days, starting from 21st of October.
