Police have confirmed that 19 Opposition MPs will appear on bribery charges before the Magistrate Court for Preliminary Inquiry on June 12.
And already government close sources say some Opposition MPs will be key Police witnesses.
While the Opposition claim the Prime Minister, Joe Natuman’s government wants to replace alleged renegade Ministers and MPs with Opposition ones.
But Opposition Leader, Moana Carcasses, could neither confirm or deny that Opposition would deposit a motion of no trust on PM Natuman next week, during the Ordinary Session of Parliament.
Daily Post contacted Port Vila MP Carcasses on his facebook account but did not get any reply on the possibility of the Opposition lodging a motion.
The bribery charges the Opposition MPs face stem from allegations MP Carcasses gave them money to overthrow PM Natuman in Parliament.
Police claim the Port Vila MP has no registered loan business to lend money to the MPs and the act of loaning money is contradictory to the Leadership Code.
Police also alleged that Vt35 million was deposited in the Leader of Opposition’s bank account and MP Carcasses “loaned” close to Vt1 million each to the Opposition MPs.
Meanwhile there is a possibility that Parliament will debate a motion on June 16 but the Opposition and the government could not confirm which motion.
