Local musicians and committee of the Vanuatu Wan Voes Kivhan festival handed over 40 boxes of donated materials ranging from tools and gear specifically for building and repairing homes, roofs, mosquito nets, tents, cooking utensils, water containers, clothes, stationery and gardening tools, to Minister James Bule, Minister of Climate Change.
These donations will be shipped out to islands still very much in need of relief supplies.
The National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) distribution officers will be assisted by two musician volunteers to help distribute the Kivhan donated items.
During the handing over ceremony, chairlady of Kivhan Festival, Alcina Charlie (pictured handing over to the Minister), announced that the Vt350,000 monetary donation is yet to buy materials to help rebuild a milestone project for Kivhan, which will be announced. Vanuatu musicians and Kivhan organizing committee would like to thank everyone who donated on Saturday 9th May 2015, during the festival.
