Luganville Municipal Council Town Clerk reinstated

Luganville Municipal Council Town Clerk Johnathan Iavere has been reinstated.

Luganville Municipal Council (LMC) Town Clerk Johnathan Iavere has been reinstated after being suspended from duty from the Public Service Commission in April this year, following allegations of insubordination and breach of financial regulations.

Despite being away for almost four months, Iavere assured he will continue to carry out his responsibilities as normal to ensure the resolutions passed by the LMC is implemented, as resolved by the Council. The LMC Town Clerk stressed the development of each area ward remains one of his main focus of development and expansion as the Council concentrates on the beautification project in Luganville town.

Iavere called on all citizens to work closely with the LMC to ensure a safe and clean environment for all.

“All citizens of Luganville as well as SANMA, particularly drivers must respect road signs to avoid accidents and learn to through rubbish at the right place at all times to help keep our town clean,” he said.

The Town Clerk is working with the Council towards the hosting of a smooth and safe celebrations for the people of Luganville during the upcoming independence celebration.
