Live emergency simulation exercise at Port Vila Airport on Monday

The Port Vila Airport will be conducting a full scale emergency simulation at the International Terminal from 8am to 12pm on Monday next week.

The Domestic Terminal will operate as normal. Drivers of public transport are advices to take extra precaution when entering the airport and to keep speed limit at 20km per hour to avoid any incident.

A Notice To Airmen (NOTAM) will be issued to inform all airlines and airport users for this exercise.

Some activities will disrupt the normal operations and airlines and airport users are requested to cooperate and respond positively when required to assist.

Airports Vanuatu Limited (AVL) said the simulation is in accordance with Vanuatu Civil Aviation Authority and International Civil Aviation Organisation regulatory requirements to test its emergency response plan, ensuring procedures and resources will cope with an emergency occurring at the aerodrome or in its vicinity.
