Freswota 4 community stopped traffic Wednesday evening to mark the opening of newly erected road bumpers.

But the road bumpers do not have effect like community made ones along the adjacent road in Freswota 5.

Along a road more than 400 meters long the Public Works Department this week erected three road safety precautions — just over 100 meters between them.

It seems however that there is no emphasis on the safety of children in Vanuatu’s largest bilingual Primary School, Freswota School because the bumpers are erected 100 meters apart.

And the Daily Post has even seen vehicles overtake each other after they crossed the bumpers.

Some say two road bumpers could have been erected 20 meters within each other near the school area so that emphasis is placed on the safety of school children.

The three road bumpers look like the ones used at the parking to separate vehicles.
