Vanuatu Society for People with Disability (VSPD) was instrumental in helping Port Vila Urban Development Project (PVUDP) to ensure that newly constructed disability toilets and showers conform to universal design principles. Pictured accompanying this article that appeared in the 15th Newslater of the PVUDP, are Arthur Simrai and Elison Bovu, who gave their time to inspect newly built community sanitation facilities at Mele Waisisi and Blacksands Tongariki.
According to the newsletter, the facility pictured required the addition of a small entrance ramp to ensure that wheelchairs users would have easy access. PVUDP is grateful for this guidance from VSPD and will continue to enlist their support.
