A funeral service was organized yesterday at the Sea Front Stage in Port Vila to pay respect to the lives taken by Cyclone Pam.

Four people in Port Vila alone did not escape the wrath of the cyclone.

Three of those were foreigners whose lives were taken when they were trying to escape. According to the Deputy Town Clerk, Theophile Massing, they were swimming ashore. The other, a woman, reportedly died of heart attack.

Ministers; James Bule of Climate Change and Bob Loughman of Education, the Deputy Australian High Commissioner, Simon Flores, Police Commissioner, former national leaders, Deputy Lady Mayor, Town Clerk, and all PVMC Councilors, volunteers and members of the public joined in prayers yesterday to think about the victims.

Yesterday was exactly one month since the category 5 cyclone hit Vanuatu.

The event announced that the government will schedule another day for Vanuatu to pay respect to the victims.
