Ambassadors make it count

Tafea vs Ambassadors action

Ambassadors took on Tafea in the Port Vila Netball League at Stade last Saturday and won 16-11.

After a narrow 24-21 loss against Manarokesa a week ago, Ambassadors were out to turn things around.

Things seemed to go their way as the match started. Tafea had only six players on the court, the girls in blue had a great advantage with their accurate passing which fed their shooters who made no mistake in scoring.

Being a girl down, Tafea showed they were not going to let things slip by easily and defended frantically and in some cases managed to create amazing turn overs.

The girls in red also managed to put the ball in the net, however the game ended in Ambassadors favor with a score of 28 -8.

Ambassadors’ captain, Mary Hinge was glad to have a victory after losing the previous game. She is happy they all played well and had a great game plan.

Hinge also says playing an opponent with one player short also gave them the upper hand which led to their victory.

The girls in blue this coming Saturday against USP at 1pm on court 1 at 1pm, while Tafea will take on Ifira at the same time on court 3.

In other games, Buluana who have the bye this Saturday, got their third victory of the season as they forfeited Ifira and USP coming of a victory over Tavola the previous weekend, forfeited Manarokesa.

Tavola took on Hawkes later that day, however Daily Post was not able to get the result of the match.

This weekend Manarokesa play Hakwes at 2:30 on court 1 while we have an all Pentecost derby on court 3 at the same time between Sia Raga and Tavola.

Tavola are the club on duty this weekend.
