Vanuatu DJ Festival 2019 confirmed for November 23

The Vanuatu DJ Festival will be held on the 23rd of November 2019 at Club Lit, and the vacant lot located next door (pending authorization).

This year due to the significant demand of participation and the limited sessions available, only the invited international DJs and the DJs from the Sound Tribe Krew will be performing, however a few championships for the most talented DJs, Performers and Producers in Vanuatu will be launched.

The championships will be held (very soon) every Friday or Saturday night at Club Lit, from 8pm to 10pm during the month of October and possibly November (pending confirmation from the club’s partners).

“We will select 5 DJs based on a 10-minute performance,” the Vanuatu DJ Festival 2019 Committee stated. “The DJs will be judged by a panel of veteran DJs on various criteria, which will be announced soon on our Facebook group:

“For Category EDM: 1 winner will be chosen for the big stage, which will be mainly EDM music. For Category Night Club: 4 winners for the Club Lit stage, which will be mainly local night club music (Pacific music, Afro Pop, Reggae, Dance Hall, Reggaeton, Zouk, Kompa etc…pretty much what is being currently played in night clubs around the capital).

“We intend to select two live performers/groups (singers with their DJs okay) who must be able to perform for 45 minutes on the Festival Day, but will need to perform about three songs, live, during the championship or less if there are too many entries:

“For Category Live: any kind of music is welcome — no more than three performers per group.”

The committee also intends to select the best original produced music:

For Category Producer: The winner will play his freshly produced tune on the big stage and he may choose to partner with a DJ for his session or solo, the selected tune will be featured on the radio, and may also be featured on the official After Movie of the Vanuatu DJ Festival 2019.

The winner must agree to share equal rights (including commercial rights) to the tune with the Vanuatu DJ Festival committee.

“This selection process is different from the championships, being more like a competition and will only be through submission directly to our email, where you will be able to provide us with a download link,” the Vanuatu DJ Festival 2019 Committee stated.

“More information will be available soon on our Facebook group page. All participants must be 18 years old, however we will allow under age participants (minimum of 16 years of age) only with written authorization from parents or their legal guardian.

“All DJs and performers are required to have their own Dj-ing equipment — only the sound and microphone will be supplied. If you do not have any equipment, such as a computer or gear, you will not be able to participate.

“More information will follow soon on: www.vanuatudjfestival.com, but by all means, start to practice and produce!

“Any questions, please ask them only to the people who can answer them by sending an email to: info@vanuatudjfestival.com. ”

All local Ni-Vanuatu performers who will won the championships or competition will be paid a participating fee and are required to follow the Festival guidelines (provided later on).

They will also be required to wear a sponsor t-shirt during their performance. Prize for each winner (of the championships) will be given on the night and their photos may be published on the Festival FB page and in the newspaper/media.
