Central School starts enrollment for second chance learning programs

Central School in Port Vila has announced it is starting enrollment for its second chance learning program, Central Community Education Program (CCEP).

Under this program Central School runs: Workplace Readiness Course Level 1, Open Distance Learning Program and the English as a Second/Foreign Language at Basic Elementary Level.

The Workplace Readiness Course at Level One suitable for school leavers over 16 years of age and for adults up to 99, allows students to be better skilled to get a job or those already employed to perform in their jobs more effectively.

Enrollments are now open at the Central School Admin for term from Monday June 6 – August 2017, duration of 12 week offering: 1) Communication Skills – Mondays 3.30 – 6.30pm and Wednesdays 5–7pm; 2) Financial Literacy – Tuesdays – 3.30–6.30pm and Thursdays – 5–7pm.

Each course has a computer training component and work experience can be arranged. Fees are : Vt20,000 for one module; Vt35,000 for two modules at the same time.

Also there is a twelve lesson IELTS Preparation course for tertiary studies in NZ and Australia available Monday and Wednesday evenings 5.30-7.30. This starts May 31.

The Open Distance Learning Program provides Year 10 repeater classes for those wanting to resit the exam again in 2017. These are on Mondays to Friday – 3.30–5.30pm with classes beginning on June 5 and runs for the whole year providing five subjects – English, Maths, Basic Science, Social Science and Agriculture. Fees are for Term 2: Vt30,000 and Term 3:Vt15,000. Only five spaces are available, however.

For English as a second/foreign language: Basic Elementary Level there are 24 lessons over 12 weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays – 5.30–7.30pm beginning on June 13, 2017. Twenty spaces are available and the course fee is Vt35,000.
