Vila Central Hospital (VCH) will soon have a fountain on its premises, thanks to a donation by Vanuatu Beverage Limited (VBL).
Deputy General Manager of VBL, Teiva Durand, stated that the Fountain was donated in response to a request by Doctor Vincent Atua, the Medical Superintendent of VCH.
“Everyone in Vanuatu has to go to VCH at one point or another in their life, be it for a happy event or a sad one. It is important that families coming through to support their loved ones be surrounded by a beautiful environment. And Vanuatu Beverage is happy to enable such a positive change,” said Mr. Durand.
VBL has supported the hospital and emergency support services in many ways over the years. It has donated empty bottles to be used as dispensers for ventolin (medicine for asthmatic patients) or free supply of water for ProMedical and sponsor of survivor games for ProRescue.
The Fountain is valued at VT175, 000. It has been purchased and collected by the VCH.
The VCH Superintendent confirmed that VCH has received the Fountain and is now looking at installing the foundation.
“We are starting work on the area that the Fountain will be installed on and it will take a month or so for it to be established. Titan FX has also stepped up to donate concrete towards the establishment of this fountain,” said Dr Atua.
The Marketing Manager of Titan FX, Allan Kalfabun, confirmed this.
