The UN Women Fiji Multi Country Office (MCO) seek to recruit a suitably and qualified Fiji national for the
following position:
National Programme Assistant, Women’s Resilience to Disasters / WRD (Vanuatu-based)
Women’s Resilience to Disasters (WRD)
The aim of the WRD Programme will be to render women’s and girls’ lives and livelihoods disaster-resilient,
contributing to sustainable and secure communities, by promoting gender responsive prevention,
preparedness, and recovery systems, plans and tools; and by enabling targeted action to help women and
girls withstand hazards and threats, recover fully from disasters, and increase their resilience to future risks.
Under the direct supervision of the WRD National Coordinator Vanuatu, the National Programme Assistant
carries out varied and inter-related operational, financial and logistical activities ensuring high quality and
accuracy of work. The Programme Assistant is results and client oriented producing administrative services
of the highest quality in a timely and proactive fashion.
The National Programme Assistant Vanuatu works in close collaboration with the WRD Regional Operations,
Programme and projects staff in the UN Fiji Women MCO, staff MCO field office(s) and other UN agencies
staff to exchange information and ensure consistent service delivery.
Contract Level: SB 3

Contract Type: Service Contract

General Terms and Conditions of Employment: Attractive salary with other various benefits including health
insurance, pension, dependency allowances and annual/sick leave apply. Contract duration is one (1) year
initially, with the possibility of an extension depending on performance and availability of funds.
