The UN Women Fiji Multi Country Office (MCO) seek to recruit a suitably and qualified Fiji national
for the following position:
WRD National Programme Coordinator (Vanuatu-based)
Women’s Resilience to Disasters (WRD)
The aim of the WRD Programme will be to render women’s and girls’ lives and livelihoods disasterresilient, contributing to sustainable and secure communities, by promoting gender responsive
prevention, preparedness, and recovery systems, plans and tools; and by enabling targeted action to
help women and girls withstand hazards and threats, recover fully from disasters, and increase their
resilience to future risks.
Under the direct supervision of the WRD Gender and Resilience Specialist, the National Coordinator
ensures the effective and efficient management of the WRD programme in Vanuatu by coordinating
programme design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation. S/he guides and facilitates the
delivery of the UN Women WRD Programme in Vanuatu by monitoring results achieved during
implementation, ensuring risk management, ensuring appropriate application of systems and
procedures, and development of enhancements if necessary. She/he works in close collaboration
with the WRD programme and operations team, UN Women HQ staff, Government officials, multi
and bi-lateral donors and civil society, ensuring successful UN Women programme implementation
under portfolio.
Contract Level: SB 4

Contract Type: Service Contract

General Terms and Conditions of Employment: Attractive salary with other various benefits including
health insurance, pension, dependency allowances and annual/sick leave apply. Contract duration is
one (1) year initially, with the possibility of an extension depending on performance and availability
of funds.
