Young people taught good governance

The Vanuatu Christian Council has organised a workshop on Good Governance for young members of the churches in Port Vila and Efate.

The workshop was held for one week at Taloa village on Nguna Island, North Efate. Twenty Seven young men and women from churches in Port Vila and around Efate participated in the Good Governance workshop.

“ The reason for choosing Good Governance for these young church leaders is because today we witness a lot of problems of leadership whereby leaders at all levels of community fail to adhere to good governance be it in the church, government or private sector ,” VCC National Youth Director Pastor George Tabi told Daily Post.

Not only did the future church leaders were taught the Good Governance but also received instructions on Life and Livelihood skills, developing self-awareness, communication skills, coping with emotion and stress and problem solving.

“ The youths were impressed with all subjects they were taught but one of the main subject of the on e week study was the Good Governance as defined by the United Nations and the Biblical insight of the Good Governance.

It is the aim of the VCC to train young men and women in the churches in this direction because if one day they make to the top, they will be able to lead people in the right direction ,” VCC Youth Director Pastor George Tabi told Daily Post.
