Regenvanu off to Olympic Physiotherapy Course

George Regenvanu will be representing Vanuatu at an Olympic Sports Physiotherapy Course to be held in Brisbane, Australia from 25 to 27 November 2011.
The course has been developed by the International Olympic Committee in conjunction with the Australian Olympic Committee and Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) and funded by Olympic Solidarity.

 The Course is designed for graduate Physiotherapists from the Oceania region who are currently working as Team Physios with athletes.

Mr Regenvanu was nominated by VASANOC is in recognition of his qualifications, experience and commitment to helping sports athletes and passing on this knowledge to others in this specialized field of sport medicine.

The object of the course is to educate Physiotherapists with practical and clinical scientific training in sports physiotherapy according to current best practice of evidence based guidelines.

The Course will be held at the University of Queensland and all of the presenters have extensive experience in Sports Physiotherapy or Sports Medicine and most have worked at the international level with several having worked at one or more Olympic Games.

VASANOC CEO, Henry Tavoa said, “Mr Regenvanu’s participation will be a boost to his knowledge to helping our athletes and also the general public in this field and we wish him all the best”.
