Political seminar for Efate Rural proposed independent candidate

A one-day political seminar at Paunagisu on Friday, July 20 will shed light on the main reason why proposed candidate for Efate Rural, Jimmy Tasong, will contest as an independent candidate.
And more interestingly the chairmen of the 40 subcommittees on Efate and offshore islands will submit the projected number of the voters in their jurisdictions, based on registration forms and will also use the opportunity to draw up policy platforms.

Accompanied by the chairman of his Erangorango subcommittee and interim chairman of south Efate, Tasong is calling on all supporters to attend the seminar and be part of the dialogue.

Key speakers include chairman of Tasong’s national executive Kalmarie Kalmara who represents north Efate mainland. Elder Roger Naviti will dwell on the spiritual and political aspects of the upcoming election.
To facilitate transport he said two or three buses will be providing transport, the first pick up point route is Erakor Bridge, Le Lagon, Club Hippique, Eratap, Teouma Shopping, Eton, Pangpang, Epau, Ekipe and Takara.

The second pick up point route is from Matantapua, Manples Au Bon Marche, Tagabe, Blacksand, Mele/Matt, Mangaliliu, Lelepa Landing, Tanoliu, Meten, Siviri, Sama and Emua.

Tasong, an experienced school teacher turned politician is from Nguna.
North Efate is yet to have a voice in Parliament after it consecutively failed to elect a candidate to fill the void left by Vanuatu’s Ambassador to UN Donald Kalpokas.
