Four Vanuatu children receive heart surgery in New Zealand

Santo News

Four Vanuatu children are currently receiving specialist heart treatment at the Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland under the New Zealand Medical Treatment Scheme (NZMTS).

The children are accompanied by a parent each and are at different stages of their treatment program.
An adult patient who travelled with the group has also undergone open heart surgery at Mercy Hospital on Tuesday July 3 and is recovering well.
The NZMTS has a positive impact on the lives of many ordinary Vanuatu citizens and has given many families a brighter future.

The patients and relatives would also like to acknowledge the support of the Vanuatu consul in Auckland, friends and members of the Vanuatu Association New Zealand (VANZ) who have gone out of their way to make the patients' stay in Auckland a pleasant one.
