46 Mission teachers graduate
A total of 46 Seventh Day Adventist Mission teachers from all six Provinces graduated from a well deserved teacher’s upgrading course at Potoroki Church at Mission Headquarters at Number Two yesterday.
The training course is a joint Vanuatu/Fulton College Teacher Education Project and is endorsed by the Vanuatu Government.
Acting Principal of Fulton College Jessie Fuamatu joined the Coordinator of the Course Coordinator Peter Roberts to congratulate the 46 students and reminded them of the words of the President of the United States of America, Barak Obama who said the foundation to nation building is teachers.
President Obama she said, recognised the vital role that teachers anywhere in the world play to teach students to prepare them for their roles towards nation building.
In the same way, the young as well as mature graduates also have a vital role to play in the country to teach their students to become leaders of the nation in the future. She reminded them that besides being teachers, they also have to be counsellors, nurses, fathers and mothers (for the students to look up to them) and security for their students.
She reminded them of King David in the Bible who was inspired by God to do His will and he even slew the Philippine Goliath with a simple sling. She encouraged them to be confident in everything they do and to carry out their duties with faith in God.
