Daily Post Senior Journalist, Godwin Ligo, takes a walk back 11 years before Independence in 1980 to look at and share his experience on the origins of Vanuatu’s political freedom.

Eleven years before July 30th 1980, the Presbyterian Churches of New Zealand and Australia in consultation with the Presbyterian Church of the New Hebrides decided to produce a documentary film on the involvement of the local church in health, education, agriculture as well as the views of the New Hebrideans on the future of the country they belong to.

Pray for peaceful celebrations: VCC

The Vanuatu Christian Council calls on all Christians around the country to pray for a peaceful independence celebrations.
The VCC Secretary General, Pastor Shem Tema, said as a Christian country, the nation can only make a breakthrough and move forward putting God first in the life of the nation.

Timothy Vatu from the Vila Central Hospital Laboratory told graduating youths at Korvan Community Health School that First Aid is not just attending to an injured person right after an accident, but it is also a ìpreventive medicineî.
