Pepsi Water Project completed

Union of Moderate Parties have finally completed and satisfied the desire of the people of Pepsi to install water supply into the whole community last weekend.

Over 200 people witnessed the opening of the tapped water.

One mother burst into tears of emotion when Luganville proposed candidate, Kalfau Moli, switched on the tap for water. She thanked Moli who came all the way from central ward which had access to every resources and gave his heart to donate and make sure they as unfortunate have the same accessibility.

MSG Provides Financial Support to Trade Pasifika 2012

PCVEA calls for help on Santo Bush Mission

The Presbyterian Church of Vanuatu Education Authority (PCVEA) has stepped out to reach the “forgotten” people living within the isolated areas of Santo Bush.

The Secretary of PCVEA, Johnathan Tarip said the church has introduced some services through few people from within those areas, accommodating over 4, 000 people.

Tarip said a group from the Church went to the area and offered eye treatments while some Presbyterian Church workers are currently carrying out work in the area under the name Santo Bush Mission, with the aim to spread the gospel.

Brussels-based Ambassador, Roy Mickey Joy, told the local media that his next mission is to convince the Commonwealth Secretariat in London for Vanuatu to bid to host the next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Port Vila in 2013.

Vanuatu has won overwhelming international support for its successful hosting of the ACP – EU Meetings.

While Cameroon is succeeding St. Lucia to take over the Presidency of the ACP Council of Ministers in August this year, we understand that Vanuatu is going to succeed Cameroon.

MSG prepares for the high level ministerial visit to New Caledonia

The Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Leaders at its Special meeting in March this year endorsed the 2nd MSG High Level/Ministerial visit to New Caledonia that will be undertaken in July to monitor and assess the implementation of the 1998 Noumea Accord.

The Noumea Accord provides for a referendum between 2014 to 2018 in which the people of New Caledonia will vote on the question of Independence.

Caulton assures security for July 30 and election

The Acting Commissioner of Police, Arthur Coulton, has given the assurance of security during the next national major events, the July 30 Independence celebrations and the October 30 parliamentary elections.

He told Daily Post by phone that following the security provided during the ACP-EU international conference that have just ended, the force is fully geared up for the next two major events.

MPP to field 18 Candidates

The Chief Administrator of the Melanesian Progressive Party (MPP) Head Office in Port Vila, Chansel Nathaniel has issued a statement to confirm that the party is ready and would field 18 candidates altogether in the up coming General Election in October.

The Party Administrator admitted that a lot of people believed the party does not exist anymore, after the last General Election in 2008 when the MPP Chairman, Barak Sope did not manage to win his seat.

This meant that the party does not have any MP in the last four-year term of parliament.

Tapangararua launches Liberal Democratic Party

The country’s former Ambassador to China, Willie Jimmy Tapangararua is launching his new Liberal Democratic Party at his residence above Esah Corporation tomorrow.

The ceremony is going to start with a parade up the slope from the vicinity of Esah Corporation to the venue at midday.

The Interim Chairman is going to welcome invited guests followed by the “transfer of authority of Party President” and the Official Launching Speech by the Leader of LDP Tapangararua and other speakers at three o’clock.

All other formalities will follow along with custom and modern music entertainment.
