Last year the total number of vehicles imported into Vanuatu was 1162.
It is a slight increase by five vehicles over the 2010 total.

However, it is 17 per cent down on the total imports in 2008 of 1409 vehicles
The figures issued by the Department of Customs and Inland Revenue and the Statistics Office of the Government covered five different categories of vehicles. These are motorcars, pickups, trucks, buses and motorcycles.

The two ni-Vanuatu victims of last week’s gas explosion have finally lost their battle against the severe burns they received to their bodies when the incident happened at their work place.

Vila Central Hospital Medical Services Manager, Doctor Willie Tokon confirmed to Daily Post that the victims who had 80% and 45% burns died Wednesday and yesterday respectively after Doctors fought in vain to stabilize their critical conditions.
