The Final Movements will be rapid ones: are we chasing after the wind?

InsideViewpoint

Somebody once wrote, ‘The Final Movements will be rapid ones’. We could perhaps best resemble this statement with the idea of an hourglass. It takes exactly an hour for the sand in the hourglass to flow from the top half of the glass to the bottom.
What is most interesting about it is that it seems to take so long for the sand to flow at the start, but by ¾ of the way through, the sand starts flowing faster and faster then it becomes very rapid and before long, time is up! It seems we are presently living in those very times, when everything seems to be running haywire and irrational.

Vanuatu Table Tennis Duo, Annoline Lulu and Yoshua Shing have earned themselves a spot, in becoming Vanuatu’s first ever table tennis players to qualify for a spot in an Olympic Games on merit.

The duo are hard at training these days to condition and shape up before the Summer London 2012 Olympics.
“When I heard that I qualified for the Olympic Games I shed tears of joy, because this was a dream come true for me. I was so excited and that excitement took on me for a week,” Annoline said.

“Yoshua also felt the same when he heard he was qualified, he was very excited.

Re: Six language Tanna Dictionary Published

Dear Editor,

It has come to my attention that there are some people wondering where they can get the six (6) language dictionary after the article above was published in the Daily Post. The dictionary is currently only available to schools on Tanna in print form, but anyone can download it from the internet at this address: www.Bit.ly/TannaDict

 Thank you,

Vanuatu membership to WTO and EU lifting of kava ban

Dear Editor,

I read with interest the defensive arguments put by Pentecost MPs over Vanuatu’s membership to WTO which they claim is the way to go to getting the European countries to lift the import ban on kava.
I noticed that three if not all, Pentecost MPs are members of the present government so obviously I can see why they all stand to defend Deputy Prime Minister’s position to sign Vanuatu’s accession to WTO.

Personal vs. Business income

Westpac - Financial Fitness - Educating our Community

If you’re starting a business you will have gone through the process of identifying the product or service you’re going to sell, the market opportunity and skills needed, and determined the likely profitability of your business. Once done you’ll then need to start treating your personal and business finances as separate entities. This means being clear on differentiating the income you earn as a business and your own personal finances. A simple way to separate your personal entity with that of your business is to split your finances. This means having a bank account for each.

Joining VNPF - What does it cost?
Does it cost me anything to join the Fund?
Membership in VNPF is free of charge so no joining fee is imposed on members.
But does it cost me anything to have my money looked after by the Board?
Like you, the VNPF staffs have to be paid for their work, but their wages do not come out of your contributions. The Board invests your money wisely and securely, so it makes a profit. All administration costs come out of that profit.

Epi farmers invest in Cocoa

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) is stepping up its efforts to revive Cocoa production on Epi.
The progress on Cocoa production in Epi as promoted by DARD has seen the distribution of over 30 000 polybags followed by cocoa pods to cocoa farmers in south, east and west Epi in August 2011 to plant cocoa seedlings.

There was a slight hiccup with the delay of hybrid cocoa seeds supplied by the Vanuatu Agriculture Research and Technical Centre (VARTC).
