Motion to oust Speaker may be debated today

The motion by the government to oust the Speaker Maxim Carlot Korman is expected to be the first on the list of government Business to be debated by parliament when it re-convene at 8.30 this morning if the standing orders were to be suspended.

This remains to be seen when parliament meets shortly at 8.30 am this morning.

The mover of the government sponsored motion is the Tanna MP and Leader of Government Business, Willie Lop, who is also the Secretary General of the Peoples Progressive Party PPP.

Lop however said it remains to be seen how the Speaker will handle today’s session.
