RBV launches 30 years anniversary celebration

The Vanuatu Reserve Bank is celebrating its 30 years of operation with a rare celebration beginning at six o’clock Sunday morning.

Deputy Governor Peter Tari welcomed the staff and invited guests to the ceremony followed by a prayer by senior staff member Noel Vari.

A brief on the event followed by the Declaring the Opening of the Celebration was made the Governor, Odo Tevi.

The RBV 30 Years Committee enabled the RBV Ladies Club and RBV Football Club to each present their items.

Nasse to serve as missionary in Solomon Islands

NTM Inner Life Ministries is still sending its missionaries to Solomon Islands from Vanuatu.

On 31st May 2011 NTM Inner Life sent its most recent missionary to go and serve in the Solomon Islands.

That latest missionary to join other NTM Inner Life team in the Solomon is Pastor Steward Nasse.

Pastor Steward Nasse has been serving as the Senior Pastor for Black Sand NTM Inner Life church until he was appointed to his new post in the Solomon Islands.

France Supports Francophone Investment Unit at VCCI

The French Ambassador recently signed an agreement to provide partial funding to sustain the operation of the Francophone Investment Unit (FIU) at the Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce.

Before signing the funding agreement she praised the unit for the achievements during the last years of operations to promote French investors into the country.

The five figures above are the number of days a Prime Minister (including purported +interim) and his state ministers lasted in a government since the 2008 General elections.

It is simple and anyone can work out for themselves why political instability and political changes is outrageously costing the taxpayers of Vanuatu dearly and why it should be avoided at all costs again.

Economy and stability priority: PM Kilman

Malekula Member of Parliament (MP) Meltek Sato Kilman Livtunvanu is the new Prime Minister of the Republic of Vanuatu.

The new prime minister was elected with 29 votes supporting his nomination while his rival for the head of government, Santo MP Rialuth Serge Vohor had 23 votes.

The nomination of Sato Kilman for Prime Minister was moved by Pentecost MP Ham Lini Vanuaroroa and seconded by Tanna MP Harry Iauko.

And the nomination of Serge Rialuth Vohor for Prime Minister was moved by Port Vila MP Edward Nipake Natapei and second by Port Vila MP Patrick Crowby.
