Aore Swim hailed a success

Swimming

The crystal-clear Pacific water around Vanuatu makes Espiritu Santo’s annual Ocean Swim seem appealing even to exercise-phobes. Participants swim the 2.8km distance across the Second Channel, starting at Luganville on Espiritu Santo Island and arriving at the Aore Island Resort.

Although the water may look inviting, the channel can attract strong currents, so this Ocean Swim is recommended only for more confident swimmers.

Vehicles transporting markets and passengers to Luganville starting from Nagingo point to Luganville which is the same distance as Manioc village in East Santo to town would take more than two hours these days compared to the past because of the poor road conditions.

Nobody is above the law

Dear Editor,

The events in the past few days which led up to the ruling of CJ Lunabek has given us a glimpse on the irrational tenacity of a few of those that walk the corridors of political power. It is a very sad day indeed when the reins of power had to be pried off by the Judiciary in spite of the every blatant contradiction of Article 41 of our Constitution.
