Your regular readers will know that the source of Tarosa's resentment comes from being exposed by Transparency Vanuatu for having acquired a personal title over central town unregistered "green space" while he was employed by the Government as Valuer General.

Dear Editor,

This Christmas was not much busy as those in the past.

People were not rushing to get items from the shops in Port Vila and the streets were not crowded.

I don't know why this is so but maybe it is something to with goods being more expensive in shops or people have changed their habits of celebrating Christmas?

Or maybe it was just because Christmas fell on a Sunday.

But whatever the cause this Christmas was certainly different.

Even there was not much fire-crackers like last Christmas.

It is good to see a quieter Christmas.

The Acting Secretary General of the Union of Moderate Parties (UMP) Georgio Calo has said there is no faction in the political party.

He clarified the article in Daily Post yesterday as misleading and reiterated that UMP has no faction but only one political party.

Mr Calo explained that that the UMP MPs who were disciplined by the National Council included Efate MP and Minister of Lands Steven Kalsakau and Ambrym MP Raphael Worwor who had resigned their political affiliation as UMP MPs and joined the Green Confederation Party and as such can no longer claim to be UMP MPs.

Outgoing Clerk of Port Vila Town Council Toco Mara has warned all children showing tourists their parrots and iguanas’ in the city to go home and tell their parents that what they are doing is illegal as they have not paid for any business licence to ask tourists to give them money for showing them their pets.
