It is critical to development as individuals and as a society.

Sexual violence is unacceptable: Save the Children

Save the Children Vanuatu has grave concern over a media report regarding three teenagers in Lugainville facing sex charges which included publishing child pornography.

It is clear police are now investigating these allegations which are a direct breach of Child Protection Rights. Every adult and child has rights and responsibilities. In this case if the trio who allegedly raped the girl and send nude pictures of her to others are aged 0-18 years old they fail their responsibility to respect the right of this girl and effectively exploit her.

Prawn joins lizard as stable protein for inland Santo village

The people of Jaravalivu Village in inland Santo are masters of agricultural crops but when it comes to protein food the villagers depend heavily on a special type of lizard found in their area.

This is what Vanuatu Fisheries Aquaculture Officer, Glen Alo found while introducing prawn farming to the village to give it another option for stable protein source.

Situated inland in the country’s biggest Island, Jaravalivu people have no access at all to fish and other saltwater resources that many coastal communities depend on for protein.

TBN and FM 90 off air

Public support needed

Viewers of TBN Christian Television and listeners of FM 90 Christian broadcast in Port Vila have questioned why these Christian stations have stopped transmissions over the past weeks.

But Daily Post was told that both TBN and FM 90 Christian radio stopped operations due to technical reasons and financial reasons.

NDMO to conduct assessment on Gaua

The Natural Disaster Management Office (NDMO) will be conducting an assessment on Gaua Island early next year.

The assessment will be done following the latest volcano alert bulletin for Gaua, issued by Geo-hazards, which reported that the alert level of the Gaua volcano has been lowered from level two to level one.

Therefore, the assessment that would be carried out would determine whether it is safe to re-locate the people from the western part of the island to the east, after they were advised to evacuate their area due to continuous eruptions at the beginning of this year.
