A man from Erakor village on Efate has been accused of using human bones to perform witchcraft and cause harm to the villagers. It has been alleged that a grave had been dug allegedly in search of the baby's bones. The alleged practises that seem to have been ongoing were brought to the attention of the chief and his council recently. Supreme Court Judge, Oliver Saksak has called for the rights of women to be recognised and respected.  Mr Justice Saksak made the call while handing down a five-year imprisonment term to a 24-year-old male from Tanna last year for raping an expatriate Catholic Nun at Saint Michel in 2009.  The five-year imprisonment term will be served at the Correctional Centre in Luganville.  The judge described the case as very serious and that imprisonment was the only sentencing option. ...
