Over 1,000 people applauded the Minister of Finance, Sela Molisa when he congratulated the people of Efate on the completion of the first 48 km of Efate Ring Road at Takara last Thursday.


He hinted that a catalyst towards a new township in North Efate is a reliable company to provide electricity and water to the region.


He said there is a great potential to set up a sustainable energy production plant through geo-thermal power which is available here at Takara and some of these developments would proceed shortly.


He said the vision is that the dawn is coming to establish a Mini Township in Havanna Harbour. “This is going to become the second Port after Port Vila”, he said.


“As Minister of Finance and Economic Management I am quite excited about the opportunities for further economic and social development that would be offered by these major infrastructure projects”, .


“People and residents of Efate should feel privileged and take advantage of the road to improve their livelihood and participate actively in developing their resources and build Efate and Port Vila into one of the best cities in the Pacific”.


He like the Prime Minister also conveyed his words of gratitude through US Ambassador Teddy Taylor to the Government of America for funding the Efate Ring Road and Santo East Coast Road.
